Early 20th century German violin
This violin bears a Stradivarius anno 1730 label.
Two-piece maple back measuring 360 mm.
Orange varnish with a beautiful transparent shine.
This violin was probably sold by Pierre Hel in Lille and has a bridge signed Pierre Hel.
It was played a lot at one time as evidenced by some varnish wear on the front part near the fingerboard.
The fingerboard, the planimetry of which has been retouched, bore the wear marks of the strings.
Before being cleaned and adjusted, this violin was strung with gut strings. It now wears Corelli crystal strings.
